Alaron Corporation is a Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Licensed facility. Alaron has been providing services to the Nuclear Industry since the Mid-80's. Alaron's facility, located in Wampum, Pennsylvania (~40 miles North of Pittsburgh), sits on 26 acres and has over 150,000 square feet of indoor processing areas. Alaron's NRC Licenses allows for the processing, decontamination, storage, packaging, and handling of Radioactive Material and Equipment. For Radioactive Materials processed for burial:Alaron is not a disposal facility. Alaron serves as a "Transfer Station". On a yearly basis, Alaron processes well over a million tons of Radioactive Material. This Radioactive Material ranges from Dry Active Waste (DAW), Metals, Large Components such as Turbine Rotors and Large Heat Exchangers, to Soil and Rubble. Most of the Radioactive Material that Alaron processes is transported to Envirocare of Utah by rail for burial. For Handling of Radioactive Material and Equipment:Alaron has teamed with several different companies that provide a service to the Nuclear Industry but do not have a NRC License. These companies bring their "Technical Experts" to Alaron and work under Alaron's NRC License. The various "Teaming" relationships that Alaron fosters allows for the following services to be offered to the Nuclear Industry: Motor Refurbishment both Safety and Non-Safety Related as large as 10,000 horse power, Pump Refurbishment both Safety and Non-Safety Related., Valve Refurbishment, Water Treatment, Cask Maintenance, Control Rod Drive Mechanism Refurbishment and Radioactive Source consolidation. Alaron also offers: Licensed Facility Access, Asset Recovery, 'N' Stamp Welding and Fabrication, "Hot Machine Shop", Storage and Service Level One Coatings.
